Rock the River FXBG, organized by a group of Fredericksburg small business owners and non-profit organizations, is the area’s largest grassroots outdoor festival. Tying local artists, musicians, craft brewers, and even dogs to Old Mill Park for a jam packed single-day festival along the beautiful Rappahannock River. The festival features a variety of outdoor sports including canoeing, kayaking, biking, stand up paddleboarding, and trail run/walking. The event was designed to promote Fredericksburg’s scenic riverfront, downtown trails and local artists to both everyday folk as well as outdoor enthusiasts. As a result of the creation of Rock the River FXBG, there is now a stronger appreciation for the value of outdoor recreation throughout the entire Fredericksburg area.
